Basic Hydric Soil Identification Course

Scientist looking for hydric soil indicatorsThis two day course is focused on the identification of hydric soils. It is taught in partnership with the Department of Natural Resources Chesapeake & Coastal Service; USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service; and U.S Fish & Wildlife Service. The course will be both classroom and field based.

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Understanding basic soils
  • Online Soils Data
  • Soil Survey Map Units
  • Basic hydric soil criteria
  • Hydric soil indicators

Course Instructors:
