Using the Critical Area Toolbox
This half-day training program is designed for Town staff and local officials that are involved in Critical Area Program implementation and decision making in municipalities within the Critical Area. The Critical Area Commission, working with a consultant, has recently created an electronic resource: The Critical Area Planners Toolbox. The purpose of the Toolbox is to provide a compendium of resources to help Town staff and officials understand the basics of how to implement Maryland’s Critical Area law and Program. The workshop will include presentations on common issues related to reviewing building permits including lot coverage, Buffer establishment and Buffer Management Plans. Attendees will be able to take the toolbox back to their jurisdictions to share the resources and provide an opportunity for others to self-train.
